ProCycling rider J.J. Clark and Bandwagon's Doug Johnson exchanged the lead for the better part of an hour on Wednesday in the second race of the Ascent Cycling Series at Bear Creek Terrace.
On the final lap, Clark, 39, pulled ahead and motored to the finish line to take the win.
Johnson, who pedaled the better part of 64 miles with a broken pedal in last weekend Growler race in Gunnison, looked to beat Clark in a final sprint, but sat up before the finish line.
"I just didn't have the legs," said Johnson.
Cam Chambers, riding a singlespeed, was on form and claimed third place.
