Adam Rich of Colorado Springs and Kelly Calway of Manitou Springs won the 2010 Briargate YMCA / Kaiser Permanente Turkey Trot 5K Run / Walk. Though the course was accidently made about 1/4 mile short when a lead Colorado Springs Police Officer made a wrong turn, it was a great event with 2,400 participants, 400 more than in 2009 and 900 more than in 2008. Rich won in 14 minutes, 25 seconds. Calway finished in 16:22. For over 13 years the Turkey Trot Run/Walk has helped to raise money to support the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region’s Partners Campaign. These funds provide opportunities for lower income families to participate in programs and activities which help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
