Colorado Springs' Mattie Suver finished second on Saturday at the U.S. Cross Country National Championships at Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder.
Suver will join five other U.S. runners on the national team that will travel to Guiyang, China, for the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in March.
It was a good day for Colorado Springs-area runners as Simon Gutierrez placed third overall in the masters race to help the Boulder Running Company/Adidas Men's Masters team secure a national championship.
The reigning Class 4A state high school champion, Katie Rainsberger, finished third in the Junior Women race and will join Team USA in China.
