Wendy Thomas fought the gusty spring wind to set a new women's record in Sierra's Run, a 5K in Loveland on Saturday. Thomas finished in 18 minutes, 24 seconds, crushing the old course record by 1:01. Race officials said the top runner's times would have been 30 seconds to a minute faster without the wind. Good job Wendy!
