Former University of Colorado cross country and track and field standouts Adam Goucher, Shayne Culpepper and Danny Reese were inducted into the Colorado Running Hall of Fame on Tuesday night at the Denver Athletic Club.

Goucher competed in black and gold from 1994-98 and was an 11-time All-American at CU, four times on the cross country course, three during the indoor season and four outdoors. The four-time NCAA Champion was inducted into the CU Hall of Fame in 2006.  Goucher went on to compete for the U.S. at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and placed 13th overall in the 5,000-meter run.

Culpepper (the former Shayne Wille) walked on to the CU team in 1995 after competing one season for Vermont. She earned All-American status twice on the indoor track in the 3k (1996, 97) and once in the outdoor 3k (1997). Culpepper went on to compete at a pair of Olympic Games, running the 1,500-meters in 2000 and the 5k in 2004.

Reese was a two-time All-American on the cross country team for the Buffs in 1984 and 85. He also earned all-conference and all-region honors in 1985.

Other members of the 2008 class include Elva Dryer, PattieSue Plumer and Mike Sandrock. Previous CU inductees include Ted Castaneda (2007) and Alan Culpepper (2009). Former CU track and field coach Rich Castro was also a member of the 2009 class.
