Chick-fil-A Patriots' Festival and Ride for Heroes set for Saturday

The Chick-Fil-A Patriots Festival and Ride for Heroes, one of the most fun bicycling events of the summer is set to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at Mountain Shadows Park.

The event includes family-friendly bike rides of three distances followed by a great festival that honors our hometown heroes, including firefighters, police and military personnel.

Story and photos from the 2012 Patriots' Festival and Ride

From the event's website: "The mission of Chick-Fil-A's Ride for Heroes and Patriot's Festival is to honor those who put themselves in harm's way to serve our country and our community. We give back to these heroes through this event by donating to the following charities: The Home Front Cares, The Peace Officers' Memorial, Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Local 5, and the National EMS Memorial.

There will be plenty of entertainment, good food and entertainment. And if that doesn't convince you to attend,  then these "Top 10 Reasons to Join the Ride for Heroes" should do the trick.

From the pen of Torie Giffin.

10) To earn the cool 2012 Ride for Heroes T-shirt or Jersey.
9) It's one of the least expensive rides around and very well supported by tons of great community partners (see the sponsor page)!

3) You get to ride with former Olympian and Founder/CEO of Carmichael Training Systems, Chris Carmichael along with at least 100 police, fire, EMS and military heroes.
