Okay the newbie of running has a question (one I think is probably - shall we say "dumb" - but hey LOL) my kids told me they heard something about a race (not the Ascent Marathon either LOL) that is strictly ran down hill and they thought it was either a half or full marathon - does anyone know of such a race in Colorado?

Thanks!

Sept. 6...we have a great half too! And a 4 person marathon relay, which is a blast! We are a little over two months out, so it would depend on how long your "long run" is right now...but joining us for the other races is an option if you're not up to the full.

Steamboat Marathon is a nightmare if you are looking a downhill race. You will fly the first few miles and then you have a lot of ups with those downs. Colorado Marathon is mostly downhill, but like someone mentioned, you have a lot of flat and after that much down, it hurts to flatten your foot out. The Slacker Half is a lot of down and only flattens the last half mile, but a blast. In Colorado Springs, we have the American Discovery Trail Marathon which is ran from Palmer Lake to America the Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs. It starts at 7200 and ends at 6000 feet - elevation. I'm not gonna lie, there are a few bumps along the way, but nothing big. It is mostly ran on groomed trail, so easy on the legs. AND best of all, it is the least expensive marathon in Colorado at $65. You can check it out at adtmarathon.com. I have ran all of these races mentioned, so I am completely speaking on experience...however, since I direct the ADTM, I'm a little bias. ;)
Hey Teresa here's the website - looks like 09/06/2010 starting in Palmer Lake and ending in America the Beautiful Park. They have a 1/2 marathon and marathon relay too.....http://adtmarathon.com
