The Pueblo Convention Center's 1st Annual Pet Expo will be jumping with excitement as some of the regions top dock diving dogs will participate at this event. Please join Rocky Mountain DockDogs, a non-profit affiliate club of DockDogs®, at Pueblo's Gateway Park for the ultimate fun experience for you and your dog. Rocky Mountain DockDog members will be there to teach you everything you need to know to ensusre you and your dog have fun. No experience necessary!

The competition is open to any dog willing to get wet, no matter how far the dog jumps, whether one inch or thirty feet. This will be an exciting and crowd drawing event, so make sure to take advantage of this opportunity by experiencing one of the fastest growing sports for canines that is packed with fune the whole FAMILY will enjoy!

Rocky Mountain DockDogs will present the Big Air® competition, where dogs run down a dock and dive into the water chasing a toy, and are manually judged for the length/distance of their jump. The Extreme Vertical® event is a "High Jump" for the dogs as they lunge to snag a "bumper" suspended in the air. With each grab, the height increases in 2-inch increments until only one dog is crowned champion. Rounding out the weekend's activities is Speed Retrieve®; a timed event where the dog is on the clock and must rund down the dock, jump into the water and swim a designated distance and retrieve a "bumper" that is suspended just above the water. The dog who does this in the least amount of time wins!

There will also be a Belly Flop Contest to benefit the BAARK foundation with a designation for Chase Away K9 Cancer, a fund through the ACVIM Foundation that awards money for canine cancer research and awareness. One in three dogs will develop cancer in their lifetimes. We work hard to raise money for this cause so your dog may benefit from this research! You can even get your dog a Speeding Ticket - Clock your dogs' speed running down the dock during a wave for a $1.00 donation!

The Pueblo Convention Center's Pet Expo is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday nad Sunday, April 9th & 10th and is free to the public. The cost for each wave of the Rocky Mountain DockDog event is $15.00 for the 1st wave, and $10.00 for each additional wave you participate in. Become a member of Rocky Mountain DockDogs and your 1st wave is FREE. This is also a great spectator sport and watching the event is free.

Rocky Mountain DockDog club events provide and atmosphere where the entire family can participate. The competitions are open to adults and kids, ages 7 and up, to compete with their dogs. Dogs, 6 months and older, of all breeds, sizes and ability levels are welcome to participate.

The following tips will make your day more enjoyable:

-4 foot or shorter leash (no flexi leashes allowed)

-A favorite floating toy for Big Air (must not be live or edible)

-Chairs & shade (umbrellas/canopies)

-Crate/Kennel for you dog to relax between waves
