 ION CENTER'S INAGURAL PET EXPO
DESCRIPTION:The Pueblo Convention Center's 1st Annual Pet Expo will be
  jumping with excitement as some of the regions top dock diving dogs w
 ill participate at this event. Please join Rocky Mountain DockDogs, a 
 non-profit affiliate club of DockDogs®, at Pueblo's Gateway Park for 
 the ultimate fun experience for you and your dog. Rocky Mountain DockD
 og members will be there to teach you everything you need to know to e
 nsusre you and your dog have fun. No experience necessary!\n \nThe co
 mpetition is open to any dog willing to get wet, no matter how far the
  dog jumps, whether one inch or thirty feet. This will be an exciting 
 and crowd drawing event, so make sure to take advantage of this opport
 unity by experiencing one of the fastest growing sports for canines th
 at is packed with fune the whole FAMILY will enjoy!\n \nRocky Mountai
 n DockDogs will present the Big Air® competition, where dogs run down
  a dock and dive into the water chasing a toy, and are manually judged
  for the length/distance of their jump. The Extreme Vertical® event i
 s a \"High Jump\" for the dogs as they lunge to snag a \"bumper\" susp
 ended in the air. With each grab, the height increases in 2-inch incre
 ments until only one dog is crowned champion. Rounding out the weekend
 's activities is Speed Retrieve®; a timed event where the dog is on t
 he clock and must rund down the dock, jump into the water and swim a d
 esignated distance and retrieve a \"bumper\" that is suspended just ab
 ove the water. The dog who does this in the least amount of time wins!
 \n \nThere will also be a Belly Flop Contest to benefit the BAARK fou
 ndation with a designation for Chase Away K9 Cancer, a fund through th
 e ACVIM Foundation that awards money for canine cancer research and aw
 areness. One in three dogs will develop cancer in their lifetimes. We 
 work hard to raise money for this cause so your dog may benefit from t
 his research! You can even get your dog a Speeding Ticket - Clock your
  dogs' speed running down the dock during a wave for a $1.00 donation!
 \n \nThe Pueblo Convention Center's Pet Expo is open from 9:00 am to 
 5:00 pm on Saturday nad Sunday, April 9th & 10th and is free to the pu
 blic. The cost for each wave of the Rocky Mountain DockDog event is $1
 5.00 for the 1st wave, and $10.00 for each additional wave you partici
 pate in. Become a member of Rocky Mountain DockDogs and your 1st wave 
 is FREE. This is also a great spectator sport and watching the event i
 s free.\n \nRocky Mountain DockDog club events provide and atmosphere
  where the entire family can participate. The competitions are open to
  adults and kids, ages 7 and up, to compete with their dogs. Dogs, 6 m
 onths and older, of all breeds, sizes and ability levels are welcome t
 o participate.\n \nThe following tips will make your day more enjoyab
 le:\n-4 foot or shorter leash (no flexi leashes allowed)\n-A favorite 
 floating toy for Big Air (must not be live or edible)\n-Chairs & shade
  (umbrellas/canopies)\n-Crate/Kennel for you dog to relax between wave
