Come to beautiful Westcliffe CO, just 2 hours south and a little west, and run one of three different courses: a tough, high altitude marathon, from 8000' to 13,050' Hermit Pass in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and back. Or a half marathon that goes to 10,350'. Or run a 13K at 8000' - 9000' feet on the rolling floor of the Wet Mountain Valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. All routes are 100% dirt, but the marathon follows a rough rocky USFS road. This is for well trained seasoned athletes. The Half Hermit is not so rugged, and the Lucky Hermit is graded gravel/dirt roads with some washboard and loose gravel.
