The inaugural Arkansas River Bluegrass Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 29 at 9:00am.
The race will feature a scenic, USATF certified course consisting of a 13.1 mile loop on county roads surrounding Salida. Live bluegrass music, beer and food will be available to all participants and spectators following the race at Riverside Park from noon - 4pm.
The race is limited to 300 entries, register online at RunningGuru.com.
Awards featuring local businesses and artists will be given to the top male and female competitors in both events. Unique finishers medals will be given to both marathon and half marathon finishers. 100 cash prize for overall male and female Chaffee county half-marathon finishers.
Packet pickup will be available Saturday evening or Sunday morning before the race at Thonhoff Park.
This race is organized by the Chaffee County Running Club with support from the Salida Recreation Department and the Rotary Club. There will be a 3 ½ hour time limit for all half marathon competitors and a 6 hour time limit for all marathoners. Race will be limited to 300 competitors so register early.
Race entry fee includes a t-shirt, lunch at the Bluegrass Festival and a soak at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center.
