Runners in the Pikes Peak Road Runners Winter Series finally got what they asked for ... winter.
Snow fell lightly throughout Saturday's 5- and 10-mile races at the El Pomar Youth Sports Complex.
We caught the start of the 5-mile race as some 420 runners dash through the snow.
The weather didn't seem to bother race winners Stephen VanGampleare and Amy Cymerman. Each set new course records.
VanGampleare, 27, of Colorado Springs, finished in 26 minutes, 44 seconds, eclipsing Luke Dakin's 27:06.
Cymerman, 25, of Pittsford, N.Y., threw down a 31:20, obliterating the old standard of 34:13 (Ali Christoph, 2015.)
