No American runner had ever won the CCC 100K at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. But then came Zach Miller, the talkative Barr Camp caretaker, who took the lead early in the race and won in 11 hours, 53 minutes. The course began in Courmayeur, Italy. Then passes through Champex, Switzerland, before finishing on streets packed with raging race fans in Chamonix, France. "I was really scared I wasn't going to win with 17 miles to go, then I just hit the best groove ever," Miller said.
