Stephanie Wurtz talks about winning the Winter Series I long-course race
Stephanie Wurtz won the Winter Series I long-course race on Saturday at Cheyenne Mountain State Park, covering a tough, snow-covered trail in 54:27. Wurtz, 31, battled Amanda Ewing for about six miles before taking the lead with a mile to go. The women's long-course series is already setting up to be close, with the top three women finishing within 42 seconds of each other. Ewing (32) placed second in 54:52, followed by Melissa Bay (38) in 55:09.
