The YMCA Turkey Trot 5K keeps growing and growing. Some 3,080 runners and walkers stepped to the starting line on Thursday at the Briargate YMCA in Colorado Springs, breaking the old attendance mark of 2,800 set last year.
"Thanksgiving is family time, so I think people like to come and participate with their families," said Turkey Trot race director Kartsin Knutson.
All of the proceeds for the race go to theYMCA's Community Support Campaign, which helps less fortunate families participate in YMCA programs.
