Mario Macias talks about winning 2011 Garden of the Gods 10-Mile Run
The Boulder Running Company's Mario Macias captured the top spot in the Garden of the Gods 10-Mile Run on Saturday, covering the famous, hilly course in 51 minutes, 55 seconds. Macias took the lead early and was not challenged. Brandon Birdsong of Texas placed second in 55:30, while Peter Maksimow of Manitou Springs finished third in 57:04. Romania native Nuta Olaru won the women's race in 1:01:40.Lindsey Scherf of San Francisco was second in 1:04:06, followed by Kelsey Jones of Denver in 1:05:54.
