Ilea Eskildsen sets race record in Peace Officers' Memorial Valor Run
Air Force Capt. Ilea Eskildsen, 25, of Colorado Springs won the Peace Officers' Memorial Valor Run on Saturday, setting a new course record of 18:20.2. A newcomer to the Colorado Springs running scene, she will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Olympic marathon trials in December. Eskildsen need a 2:46 to make the trials cut. She'll try for that time at the California International Marathon on Dec. 4.
