Connie McKenzie is first cancer survivor to finish Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Two-time breast-cancer survivor Connie McKenzie became the first survivor to finish the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Sunday in the Garden of the Gods. McKenzie said early detection and plenty of exercise helped her beat cancer. Her son, Chuck McKenzie, was the fastest runner of the day, covering the hilly 5K in 17 minutes, 30 seconds.
