Thanks to everyone who stopped by last Tuesday at Jack Quinn's. We'll be there again on November 19th so say hello! Race date (December 7th) is 3 weeks away. If you haven't done so, register at active.com before the price goes up December 1st! Now for the updates...
Santa has confirmed that he WILL be making the trip down from the North Pole on race day. You can get your picture taken with him (for free!) courtesy of Tim Bergsten and PikesPeakSports.us. After cheesing it up with Ol' Saint Nick, stop by and visit our on-site Pearl iZUMi rep to test drive some amazing shoes.
And speaking of Pearl iZUMi shoes, the top 3 male and female 5k runners will receive a voucher for a free pair! Is there another 5k (or any distance for that matter) offering running shoes to podium finishers? Maybe....But not on December 7th! And that's not all...These folks will also receive a one of a kind, decorative plate painted by one of our friends with cerebral palsy from Color Me Mine of Colorado Springs. Who wouldn't want one of these beauties proudly displayed on their mantle at home?!
But the fleet of feet won't be the only ones recognized. Oh no. There will be prizes for the best decorated wheelchair/stroller, for THE UGLIEST CHRISTMAS SWEATER, and random drawings for more give-aways.
To be perfectly honest with you, the competition for tackiest attire has been incredibly fierce in previous years. This year, with the stakes at an all-time high, I'm betting that it'll take a pair of Swants or maybe even a Swonesie to win. Who knows...if we're lucky, it may even come to a Swants Dance Off !
