It's that time of year again, time to dust off the skis and gas up the snow mobiles! But you are going to need more than just a tank of gas to hit the powder – you've got to have the right equipment to make sure that a dream day on the slopes doesn't turn into a nightmare. Here are a few must-have items:
Helmets
There is NO reason NOT to wear a helmet on the slopes! You wouldn't think about riding a bike or motorcycle without wearing one, so the slopes shouldn't be any different. Keep that noggin warm and safe this season (I recommend HJC snowmobile helmets, they have kept me safe so far!)
Snow Suits
Bibs and suits are a must have! You don't want to get caught in a small blizzard without one of these. There is nothing worse than busting on the ice and getting snow down your pants!! Go for the higher insulation and a dark color (for staining purposes) - check out Dick's for the least expensive suits.
Goggles
Trust me, if you've ever been skiing, you know how bright it is an having a pair of really good goggles is a life saver out there. Not only blocking the sun, but for thrashing around in the powder. Protect your eyes! You only get two! Make certain that you get good lenses to prevent sun damage.
