ROLL 2012 backs Boulder's bid for Bike Art
Ain't it a beautiful thing when twin tire tubes,
a touch of creativity, and a lot of love erases the
distance between BDUs and trust fund hippies?
Savvy cyclists will follow ROLL from Colorado
Springs to Boulder in March. The common link
is cycling, and ROLL artists know their Bike Art is
world class.
Boulder's Dairy Center for the Arts is hip bicycle
art thanks to Mary Horrocks, Gallery and Education
Co-ordinator. The Dairy will initiate a bike-crazed
community to the concept with "Bike Art at the Dairy"
this March. Show opens Friday, March 9 and runs
through March 30. The Dairy is located at 2590
Walnut Street in Boulder, and regular gallery hours are
Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.
ROLL 2010 People's Choice 2nd Runner Up Jimmy
Descant, known for his Cowboy Rocket Bike, will
assemble an interactive repurposed bike sculpture at The
Dairy Saturday, March 17 from 9 AM to 5 PM as a special
event. ROLL 2011 artists will support "Bike Art at the Dairy"
with their original work, including Nard Claar, Amy Seltzer,
Mattie O. and David Gonzales. See you there!
