I fell off the wagon.
I think it was a post-race proverbial "hang-over" that was completely alcohol free but laced with plenty of ice cream and diet soda. I know, quite a bender.
After the Garden of the Gods 10-Mile, I rested for a couple of days. That became almost a week. Then my wife went out of town with the kids. I had good intentions, I really did. But I just didn't run much.
Then I went on vacation with the family and you know how that goes... never is there as much time or energy for exercise as you dream the night before you leave. To add insult to injury, I've spent the last 10 days at like four feet above sea level. So here I am!
Less than a week to go before the Stampede and I'm acclimating. Not a good sign. I did run on vacation. Man I felt fast. We'll have to see what tonight's workout feels like. I'm stepping off a plane and wondering if I'll be able to breath.
