WHEW! I know it was a two weeks ago, but I just got back from my travels aboard and wanted to post a race report for the Berlin Marathon!
I ran the race through Marathon Tours and felt like they were very well organized (running it through them included their membership fee, the race cost and hotel cost for 4 nights). The hotel was centrally located in Berlin so it made for an easy walk to the start line…well as easy as walking to the start line with 40,000 other racers can…

DUNT, DUNT, DUUUUUN….race week well upon us! At this point I am ready to just DO IT! I am quite frankly tired of feeling anxious about it! This past weekend I had a phenomenal time at the Ragnar Relay with 11 of my new BFFs running from Copper Mountain to Snowmass. The scenery and comradery was unprecedented and is helping me to carry me through this week with an eerie calmness. I am reflecting on what a great time I had, rather than being nervous about what lies ahead.…

Taper Time! Oh how time files when you’re having fun! I can’t believe race day(s) are almost here!
Here’s what I’ve been up to – Last weekend I spent some time on Elbert. I initially started up the southeast ridge which had a little more elevation gain and mileage than the popular northeast ridge. Once I finally found the trailhead I realized I damn near the only person on the trail! I got about two miles up before I noticed…

In my last post I ranted endlessly about how much I thought I was going to dislike the loops in the Summer Round Up 12k...turns out they weren't that bad. It was actually a pretty fast course in general.
However, this was a fairly crappy race for me for other reasons. My lower back was killing me! Like "sweet baby jee...mother of Mary" killing me! I stupidly did some heavy weighted lunges a few days prior…

( ^^ Deftones song reference for all you non-rockers reading this ;p )
Hooray! Hooray! Summer Round Up is this weekend! Summer Round Up has always been one of my favorite summer races! It is more or less what turned me on to trail running! I ran my first Summer Round Up 4 years ago, just a few months after ACL surgery...probably not the smartest thing…

Oops, here is a long overdue race report from the Garden of the Gods 10 Mile:
It was HOT! I was pleased that I went out at a sustainable pace rather than the insane pace I usually start out with and then end up scaling back, way back just a few miles in. I have run in the Garden plenty of times, but never this race. It was gorgeous, but man those hills kicked my butt. I didn’t quite make my goal time (sub…

Whew!! The last few weeks have been quite the whirl-wind for me! I was in Moab and Lake Powell with my sisters, then out with some friends, then two shows at Red Rocks, and then Snowmass with my Ragnar team! I think I have been home 3 of the last 18 days! BUT, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I love this crazy storm I call my life! Sometimes it seems like there is no real middle ground for me though...I either plan every…

Yes, this is one of THOSE kinds of posts...the sappy, trying to be motivational kind, which is rare for me as my primary means of communication is sarcasm.
My sisters (and our significant others) planned a road trip to Moab and Lake Powell for the holiday weekend. No one else in my family (or my husband) like to run. They legitimately think I'm bat-shit crazy for even entertaining the idea of running up Pikes Peak. To them,…
