Buckhorn Captain Jacks: North Cheyenne Canyon

DESCRIPTION: Mellow upper climb smooth dirt / hardpack and some loose gravel 1/2 way up. Good work-out with a couple of tight turns and drop offs. That was buckhorn. Captain Jacks is the other half of the ride, all down hill toboggin run style in places. Gets hairy,,, be careful. At Jacks end, take dirt road to the right for a short cooldown back to the parking area. This ride will kill 1.5 to 2 hours.

DIRECTIONS: Take 21st Street south from Highway 24 to Cheyenne Blvd. Make a right on Cheyenne Blvd. and take this to the entrance of North Cheyenne Canyon. Proceed up the canyon past Helen Hunt Falls to the top parking lot. The trail starts at the back of the parking lot where the road is closed.
