The second race in the Pikes Peak Road Runners Winter Series is set for Saturday.

The distances increase this week, with a short course of 4 miles and a long course of 8 miles on the mostly flat Pikes Peak Greenway trail. The course runs out (north) and back along Fountain Creek on a mostly paved surface.

The short run begins at 10 a.m. with the long-run start at 10:15 a.m. at the El Pomar Youth Sports Park, 2212 Executive Circle.

Registration for the entire series is closed, runners may still register for the final three races.

2010 winners: 8-mile - Peter Maksimow, Manitou Springs, 45:56; and Adrian Chouinard, Manitou Springs, 52:38. 4-mile - Shawn Dubbs, 18, Cripple Creek, 22:08; and Angie Martell, 25, Colorado Springs, 26:01.
