Girls’ night out
There is a great opportunity for competitors and non-competitors to meet some Pikes Peak running pioneers at the Peak Buster’s Ladies Only Event, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 19, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 800 Manitou Ave.
Come and enjoy light refreshments and meet your fellow female running mates; hear and talk with running experts Jan Seeley of Marathon and Beyond; Sr. Marion Irvine, the running nun and past Olympic runner who has tackled the Peak several times and Caroline Merrill, another Pikes Peak runner, who ran across America in 1984 with friend Annabel Marsh. This is an absolute must for all female runners in the Pikes Peak Ascent and or Marathon. Come fill your cup with stories, wisdom and support to tackle the PEAK for a truly PEAK 'MOUNTAIN TOP' EXPERIENCE. $5 admission at the door. RSVP to Penny Bever, 719-685-1381 or Caroline Merrill at Peakbusters@aol.com

Roland...I would wear your regular warm weather run gear and bring a light windbreaker.

I know its late but what is everyone planning on wearing for the race this weekend? I was thinking shorts, under armor shirt, and a wind proof vest while carrying arm warmers and possibly tights.
