From UpaDowna
Come on out and join the folks at UpaDowna for the inaugural "Bob's Bash," a true mountain run scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., June 23, at Aspen Valley Ranch near Woodland Park.
Named in memory of Bob Small, the late Associate Director of Pikes Peak Community Foundation, this race has all the elements of a great trail run: spectacular 360-degree views, tough ascents, and speedy single track through aspen meadows. This run will thrill and challenge every trail runner who loves a great, but tough, race.
In 2011, Bob, along with local community leader Brian Kates, brainstormed and then designed short, medium, and long courses on this pristine mountain property. Our test group of runners last year simply raved about the courses. We'll have three distances, 5K, 9K and a 20-plus miler for runners of all levels. And there will be 400 and 800-meter fun runs for kids 10 and under.
After the race please stick around and enjoy a few Bristol Brewing Company beers and some great live music that will allow this to be a true bash!
