The Jack Quinn's Running Club made a big announcement today.
The following comes from the club's volunteer committee.
As we approach our seventh year as a club, we have grown from a small weekly run into one of the largest running clubs in the country. During the last summer, we averaged 1,700 runners per week. In our history, 25,000 runners have run with our club at least once and we have inducted more than 7,000 runners as official club members by handing them their 10-Run Shirt, free of charge.
As the size of our club has grown, so have our costs. Starting May 7, 2013, Jack Quinn’s Running Club will end the free shirts and begin charging $10 to club members who qualify by completing their 10th run with JQRC. With your $10 payment, you will receive the 10-Run shirt, official recognition as a JQRC member, and any benefits associated with being a JQRC member including discounts at many of our sponsors as well as any future benefits we plan on adding. We are announcing this early to provide as many runners as possible an opportunity to complete their 10 runs and to receive their free shirt prior to the May 7th deadline.
We value the relationships we have with our club sponsors and we will still have sponsors to provide for the operating costs of JQRC including maintaining and purchasing computers and conducting special events such as our Championship Race and Christmas Party. We will continue to forge relationships that will strengthen our mission to help foster our community by providing a venue that promotes active lifestyles and social interactions.
