Colorado Springs runner Tera Moody finished 14th in the National Club Cross Country Championships, leading the Boulder Running Company's women's open team to a second-place finish on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.
Moody (right), who hopes to earn a spot as a marathon runner on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team, covered the 6K distance in 20 minutes, 24 seconds. Renee Metivier Baillie of Boulder captured the women's title, finishing in 19:50.5.
Alisha Williams, also of Colorado Springs, finished 21st in 20:33, followed by teammates Cassandra Slade (22md, 20:35), and Nicole Feest (24th, 20:41) and Stephanie Bylander (40th, 21:02).
Other BRC team finishers included Amanda Occhi (55th, 21:15.4), Shannon Payne (below right, 63rd, 21:24.1), Wendy Thomas (below left, 64th, 21:24.4), Kristen Hemphill (65th, 21:24.8), Lori Walker (73rd,21:28.9), Ashley Birger (154th, 22:41.1).
In the 10k men's race, the top finisher from Colorado Springs was Matt Williams, who represented the Air Force Academy and finished 16th overall in 30:05.05.
The Boulder Running Company men placed seventh as a team. Scott Dahlberg lead the way for BRC, placing 27th with a time 30:18.9. He was followed by Tommy Neal (54th, 30:56), Paul Michel (56th, 31:00), Greg Reindl (70th, 31:21), Adam Rich (73rd, 31:24), Ryan Hafer (93rd, 31:38), Robby Young (106th, 31:50), Jason Delaney (122nd, 32:08), Jonathon Luna (219th, 33:23). Aaron Braun, running for the McMillan Elite team, won the men's race in 29:35.3.
