The new Ridgeline Open Space Trail System built by the town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department will make it’s competitive debut on Sunday June 12th, with the much anticipated Rocky Mountain Endurance Series Race – the Ridgeline Rampage.
This inaugural event highlights the new 10 mile Ridgeline Open Space Trail System course that starts from Bison Park in the Meadows Subdivision. This trail is the culmination of many years of planning from passionate individuals.
The Rocky Mountain Endurance Series is a five race Series that crowns the most consistent endurance mountain bike racer over the course of the season. The Ridgeline Rampage race will be the third stop in this year’s Series. Each race offers participants a choice of the Marathon distance, in this case 60 miles, or the Half Marathon distance which is 30 miles.
The Castle Rock event will also feature “Wrangle the Ridge” races for beginner and sport riders, offering a 10 or 20 mile option.
The event features an expo of industry merchants, food, awards, raffles and refreshments.
In addition, the event includes the Warrior Kids Zone activities and games, and the highlight for many - the free Warrior Kids Race for ages 12 and under.
The course is now open for pre-riding and is receiving good reviews from riders.
