Matt, I'm not sure but I think Ascent Cycling has some organized rides. If not or even if they do, this website would be a good place to start posts about connecting for group rides.
Matt,
I've lived in springs my whole life and could show you some trails. I'm always upto ridewith new people. Let me know!!
Hey Matt,
A guy named Ryan Kohler...he is a member on this site..has done a couple of semi-organized rides leaving from Carmichaels at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Don't know if he is going this week. You might send him a message...here is his profile page. He is also on Facebook.

Hey Matt, I'm meeting with a group on Monday morning to ride at the Air Force Academy.
There are a number of options available to you. My wife and I lead MTB rides for the Colorado Springs Cycling Club and the Snojets Ski Club. I am aware of Medicine Wheel which is the local IMBA connection. There is WMBA which I don't believe you would fit in with seeing as it is a female organization. There are probably several other official groups the the bike shops would know about. FYI, our rides are on more of a social event than a rip session, we also have a NO DROP policy. How ever, our rides are a place to hook up with riders that are on your level and make plans to go RIP it up. We are running rides every other Tuesday at 5:30 pm at different location around the area. Our next ride is June 8 at the Monument Preserve. We also are putting together a number of weekend rides including Rampart Resevoir June 6. If you would like more info please feel free to contact us at mikeandlorena@elpasotel.net
The Colorado Springs Cycling Club www.bikesprings.org has mtn bike rides but is primarily a road-focused club. The North Colorado Spring Cyclists www.meetup.com/North-Colorado-Springs-Cyclists also does mtn bike rides that they list on their site. Several of the bike shops do host rides but you'd have to check w/them directly to find out what the offerings are. One other avenue is going to the Front Range forum on www.mtbr.com, there is an active group that plans rides via that social means. Lots of great riding, lots of great people!

Cheers,

Allen
Matt - A couple of ideas - you may not be interested at all, but Andy Bohlmann, race director for the Ascent Cycling Series mountain bike races needs volunteers for a big race coming up July 9-11. Get involved there and you'll be right in the middle of the local ride/race scene. Read more. Also, this Wednesday evening is the second race in the Ascent series. It's at Bear Creek Terrace in Bear Creek Park. You'll be able to learn lots of info about rides there.
Matt-I'd recommend talking to Rush and Mindy at CS West Bike Shop in OCC, The guys at Procycling on Hwy 24 and 21st, as well as the crew at Criterium. Also stop in and see Tim up at the new Monument Ride Center....Tim is a local legend, guru of all things mtb, and as great of a guy as they get.

I'll also second Ascent....Clay and Patrick are very knowledgable and great if you live on that side of town. I have a ton of respect for the Colorado Springs Bicycle Club. They do an excellent job on group rides and is a great place to find others to ride with too. Last, there are a decent amount of serious riders on these forums and arguably best source for cycling news in the Peak Region.

Also keep your eye out for my new publication launching this summer, Front Range Cyclist as we'll have a collection of all rides on the Front Range.
wow, lots of info. Thanks Everyone.
