Not since Mother's Day 1996 have we had this many
pre-entries for a Spring race!
I had hoped to enter all new pre-entered
riders into my rider e-mail address book, but I just don't have the
time.
Last update before the race:
1. At the last minute (yesterday afternoon)
several course marshals
may be able to help. I need three (3) marshals from 8 AM to
about 3:30-4:00 PM or six (6) to work in shifts. Please contact me
directly if anyone is able to help. My cell is on the contact page at
2. Course set-up: Matt Benassi, our Venue
Director and Allen
Beauchamps, our Chief Course Marshal will begin marking the
course at 4:30 PM today with stakes and arrows. Assistant Race
Director, Matthew Bohlmann and I will be there as well in son
Philip's red Toyota pick-up fully race ready.
Staff will arrive at dawn to close the road down to Lazy Land, put
some cones out, open the locked gates, set up the Finish line at
the upper end of the Youth Camp Rd., and set up registration and
the start area.
3. Registration: Gina (with SCS
since '91!) and Matthew will open
registration at or a little before 8:00 AM in the NE
corner of
the
parking lot at Maizeland and Academy (also the Start location).
Please note: We will only register the 9:00 AM start first and
when the 9:00 AM race starts, then will register the 11:00 AM start,
etc. Look for the New Kenda red canopy!!! Thanks, Jim
W.!
Pre-entered riders may pick up their number with Matthew at
registration. Your numbers will be in last name alpha order.
4. First race will begin to line up at 8:45 just
east of registration
5. Results will be transported from the Officials
back to the registration
area and posted. Please do not bother the Officials at the Finish
line as they will be very busy scoring and doing your results.
6. Awards (medals 1st-3rd) will be awarded at the
registration/start
area after the results have been posted at least 15 minutes and
after the next race starts, etc.
7. As always, helmet on, stay alert, and have
fun and take care of our
most famous Park!
