Rocky Mountain Field Institute needs volunteers to help with Pikes Peak resotoration projects

The following is from the Rocky Mountain Field Institute website.

The Rocky Mountain Field Institute needs your help on Pikes Peak in August. Please join us!

Our Pikes Peak Corps and interns are working on the Peak this summer, but we need some larger groups of volunteers in August for some special projects high on the mountain. Come celebrate Colorado Cares Day with
us on August 8, or join our grand finale for work on the Peak on August
28. We'll be repairing damage to the alpine, including alpine wetlands,
affected by the Pikes Peak Highway. The project will involve
transplanting tundra plugs and laying protective matting and reseeding
areas.

These are great workdays to bring a group from your work, school or organization--we need lots of volunteers!

MEETING PLACE: North Pole parking lot (far west side by entrance arch) before the Pikes Peak Highway Toll Booth (we'll send directions after you register).

WORK PLACE: Above Devil’s Playground (12,500’ +)

ACTIVITY: Join members of the Sierra Club Pikes Peak Group and Rocky Mountain Field Institute for workdays on Pikes Peak to repair impacts to the alpine, including alpine wetlands, affected by the Pikes
Peak Highway. The project will involve transplanting tundra plugs and
laying protective matting and reseeding areas. The outing will involve a
short walk, possibly over steep terrain.
