Where - Garden of the Gods Trading Post Parking Lot. Click here for a Google Map of GOG Meeting Place
Please note that the only access is by Beckers Lane. You will not be able to drive through the park as the rest of the park is closed for a running race.
When: 8 a.m., Saturday, May 7. We will work until about noonish.
What to bring: Please remember to wear sturdy shoes and long pants - here is lots of cactus and yucca in this part of the Garden of the Gods. Bring work gloves if you have them, bring water (camelback), snacks, sunscreen, hat, eye protection, etc. We'll provide the tools and supervision.
More Details: We will meet at 8 a.m. in the parking lot, there will be a short talk about the day's plan, then we'll split into several work groups. A short safety talk will follow, then some groups will be shuttled up to the top of the trail on Rampart Range Road via a city van, others will hike in from the bottom.
Most of the work is on steep slopes with lots of cactus, yucca, scrub, loose rocks, etc. There is very little shade and it is expected to be warm, so please be prepared for the conditions. There will be a city liability waiver to be signed by all volunteers. Most important, have fun! See you on Saturday morning.
