Thursday Night racing is on. Last night, 6/2, the summer racing season has officially started at the 7/11 Velodrome at Memorial Park. There was a great turnout with some very fast and close racing. Announcing the action was Elite Track Coach Mark Tyson. The racing went as follows, Pro Men's Cat 1/2- 3 lap sprints, Woman's 1 mile race, Cat 3 Men's unknown distance, Woman's 10 lap tempo, Pro Cat 1/2 Miss-N-Out, Cat 3 Men's 20 lap points race, Woman's 15 lap points race and Pro Cat 1/2 Men's 40 points race. This was also the start of Dave McIntosh's 26th year training and racing at the 7/11 Velodrome which opened in 1982 in preparation for the "84" LA Olympics. Now a coach at Carmichael Training Systems, he started here as a young Junior and has went on to become the State Champ multiple times. He also has more consecutive years training and competing here than any other rider. "Great Job" Dave!!!! Come check out the 2011 season of fast cycling every Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7pm, (p.s. they are FREE to watch). Or better yet come sign up and train and race here yourself.
