On the heels of the Colorado Classic Bike Race, Colorado Springs will host another great cycling event - the inaugural Porsche Thunderbird Road Race at the USAFA. Not only is this a local USA Cycling-sanctioned road race in our own backyard, it's also the Colorado Master's State Road Racing Championship.
In order to pull this complex event off, race organizers are looking for volunteers from the local cycling/outdoors community to drive chase vehicles, marshal and set up the course, and provide neutral support in the feed zones. This is a great opportunity to give back to the local cycling community and enable future cycling events in this region and Colorado. Plus, you get to watch some inspiring racing on familiar roads, especially as the Master's riders duke it out on this challenging course.
