One thing about the Pikes Peak Road Runners Fall Series, you never know what race director Larry Miller will throw at you. The courses and obstacles he includes change a little each year. But the first race scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Sunday Oct. 2, will include a romp upstream through Monument Creek.

Be sure to wear an old pair of shoes because you'll want to throw them away when you're done. And bring some clean socks and shoes to change into when you're done.

The 3.5-mile race is the fist of four in the series. The next race is slated for Oct. 16 in Bear Creek Park, followed by 6 miles in Ute Valley Park on Oct. 30, and 7 miles in Palmer Park on Nov. 13.

Registration for the series is $45 for Pikes Peak Road Runners members and military personnel, $60 for non members. Singe race registration is $12 and $16.
