Shared Lane Marking (SLM)or also known as "Sharrows"
What are they? Where did they come from? And what is the initial plan for their use on the roadways of Colorado Springs?
Please come join the community as a panel led discussion on the Shared Lane Markings happens on Monday evening, May 2nd. Representatives from City Transportation Engineering, the Citizens Transportation Advisory Board (CTAB), the Bicycle Advisory Board (BAC) an...d local bike advocates will host a community discussion on the Shared Lane Markings and how they fit into the local transportation infrastructure.
There will be representatives from various local neighborhood associations and from the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO). All roadway users are encouraged to attend, whether you are a full-time cyclist, automobile driver or as most people are, a mix of both.
This will be the first opportunity for the public to both hear about the full details of the Shared Lane Markings and to engage in a question and answer period. Along with scheduled Council, CTAB and BAC meetings, there will be also public workshops hosted by the BAC in the near future.
