Do we ever live in a great place! When your lunch ride is the Falcon Trail, life is good!

Anyone have any recommendations for trails around Winter Park / Granby? I'll be up there for the 4th. I'd rather not pay and I don't want to take a chairlift. I want to do some good climbing and some good descents. Thanks - Geoff

You can't go to Winter Park without riding the Tipperary Creek Loop. You can use other connectors and make the ride longer or shorter. I haven't up there enough lately though to give get directions.

    Thanks Rob!

Is there a trail(s) from CoS to Woodland Park??
  • Brian McCarrie

Hey Jeff, it's not a trail but you could take RAmpart Range Rd. It's a dirt road that starts in Garden of the Gods and goes up to Woodland Park and beyond.

I've ridden up Rampart Range a few times and at least when I've done it there have been few vehicles. Not as nice as a trail but still a good ride. I've also ridden up the Santa Fe trail to Monument and then up Mt. Herman. Don't remember the distance but depending on where you would start I think it ends up being longer.

I've done Rampart Range Road to Woodland Park. It's long and I don't recall a place to refill on water, so bring plenty. We went on a summer weekday. Few cars, but not bad.

I think there is a way up Herman Mtn road over to Woodland Park - I made a map... I'll see where I put it. More to follow.

I found the map - this is Mt. Herman to Woodland Park. I have not tried it - I just mapped it with hopes to do it ;)
