There was no catching Emilio Trujillo at the Pumpkin Run 5K on Saturday (Oct. 3, 2015) at Venetucci Farm in Colorado Springs. Trujillo ran around the cornfield and through the barnyard and past the pig pen to win in 16:46. Jeff Turner, 45, Colorado Springs, clocked 17:43 for second place, followed by Daniel Wells (23, Colorado Springs) in 18:21.
In the women's race, Elyse Crimm (25, Peyton) took he win in 23:21, followed by Emma Perschke (12, Colorado Springs) in 24:25, and Nikki Black (26, Colorado Springs, 24:25.)

Fall weather officially arrived for the start of the Pumpkin Run 10K on Saturday (Oct. 3, 2015) at Venetucci Farm in Colorado Springs. The runners enjoyed the cool weather as Christopher Gregoy, 35, of Westminster, captured the win in the men's race. Gregory covered the cross-country course in 37 minutes, 1 second, while Christopher Camacho (21, Colorado Springs) placed second in 39:26. Grant Drummond, 38, of Woodland Park, was third in 40:05.
In the women's race, Kierann Toth (31, Colorado Springs) won again, charging around the farm in 42:57. Amy Batson (32, Colorado Springs) kept it close to finish in 43:26, with Katie Robinson (35, Woodland Park) placing third in 46:30.

Runners in the Great Pumpkin Run 5K charged into the open fields at Venetucci Farm on Saturday. Adam Rich of Colorado Springs took the win, breaking his own course record in the process. Rich won in 16 minutes, 23 seconds. Paige Embaugh, 13, won the women's race in 22:37.

Katie Baker, 23, of Colorado Springs, is a former professional basketball player, but she may have found a new sport on Saturday at the Great Pumpkin Run at Ventenucci Farm in Colorado Springs. Running in her first race, Baker captured the win, covering the 10K cross country course in 44 minutes, 13 seconds.
