Incline Club kicks off another season

The Incline Club started its 16th season on Sunday with a run up Ute Pass Trail, then around Waldo Canyon Trail and back to Manitou Springs.
The group meets at 8 a.m. each Sunday for runs on the foothills trails above Manitou Springs. Most members are focused on training for the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon in August.
Twelve-time Pikes Peak Marathon champion Matt Carpenter welcomed about 110 runners at Memorial Park.
"Getting ready for Pikes Peak is like having a baby," Carpenter said. "And today we begin our first trimester."
