From the TOSC website: UpaDowna is a local nonprofit dedicated to getting everyone off the couch and outside, regardless of age or ability. We're excited to partner with them for one of their Third Sunday Adventures--Earth Month Edition! Bring the kids and help us pick up trash and close social trails in Red Rock Canyon Open Space, starting at 10 am this Sunday, April 21st. UpaDowna is providing snacks; we'll bring the trash bags! After the cleanup we will take a short hike to explore some of the beauty of Red Rock Canyon Open Space.

By Susan Davies
Executive Director, Trails and Open Space Coalition

Next time you venture out to your favorite park or trail consider bringing
along a delicious Red Rock Chocolate Bar in your knapsack and enjoying
a bottle of Red or White Rock Wine after a long day on the trail. Not
only will you be treating yourself to a delicious locally produced treat,
you will be supporting your local trails and open spaces - thanks to 2
new business ventures benefiting the Trails and Open Space Coalition.
The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, along with D’Vine Wine have
created 2 new tempting products sure to please both outdoor enthusiasts and
armchair adventurers. The large Chocolate bar is a beautiful piece of art
depicting the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak in layered chocolate. The
bar was designed by local artist Jason Baalman - and comes in both milk
and dark chocolate. Bars are available in all 5 regional Rocky Mountain
Chocolate Factory locations. The wine is produced by D’Vine Wine of
Manitou Springs, and is available in both a full-bodied Red Rock Red
and crisp and cool White Rock White. The wine makes a perfect gift and
is wrapped in a beautiful water color graphic created by artist Paulette
Brodeur. The wines are available exclusively at D’Vine Wine located at 934
Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs.
“We’re thrilled with both products and delighted that these two local
businesses are willing to contribute to our cause. In these challenging times
we have to rely on creative funding sources and these two businesses are
stepping up in a big way”, says Susan Davies with the Trails and Open
Space Coalition. “The great thing is you can consume these products nearly
guilt free knowing the proceeds will help support our on-going stewardship
and sustainable parks efforts”.
For product information and availability contact Mazie Baalman at the
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at (719) 635-4131 www.rmcf.com,
or Tracy Fagner, D’Vine Wine at (719) 685-1030 www.dvinewineusa.com
