 cycling passionistas, the wait is over. Registration is now open for t
 he fifth annual Venus de Miles, Colorado’s first and only all-women
 ’s road ride. Join us for this year’s event on Sunday, August 26t
 h 2012, in Boulder County.\nThe wildly popular event draws women who a
 re passionate about cycling, sisterhood and supporting Greenhouse Sch
 olars, a Boulder based non-profit organization that provides mentorsh
 ip and scholarship support to high-performing, under-resourced student
 s.\n\nEvent organizers for the 5th annual Venus de Miles are expecti
 ng close to 2,000 participants. Riders can choose from one of four fu
 lly supported courses, including the rolling 100-mile century ride,
  the calf-cramping 67-mile ride, the heart-pounding 51-mile ride, or t
 he 33-mile jaunt through the scenic countryside.\nAn upbeat festival f
 ull of all things fun and fabulous follow the ride, including complime
 ntary spa services, bike demos by Trek Women, a gourmet catered lunch,
  cocktails, live music, and more.\n\nTo date, Venus de Miles has raise
 d over $381,000 for Greenhouse Scholars. And, to keep the momentum goi
 ng this year, organizers are requiring each participant to fundraise $
 75 for the cause (in addition to the cost of registration). With 74 S
 cholars in the Greenhouse Scholar program, the fundraising requirement
  ensures each rider can contribute a minimum of $1 per Scholar.\nVenus
  de Miles hopes to raise $225,000 for Greenhouse Scholars through the 
 2012 ride.  “We’re thrilled to deepen our commitment to the Gree
 nhouse Scholars program by enhancing our fundraising initiatives t
 his year. By doing so, we’re able to put four more Greenhouse Schola
 rs through our program. That’s four more lives we’ve touched,” s
