DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has grown over the past 10 yea
 rs from 284 finishers in 2000 to 778 finishers in 2010. Start the New 
 Year off right!Proceeds of this race go to the El Paso County Search &
  Rescue (EPCSAR). The EPCSAR is an all-volunteer organization that pro
 vides search and mountain rescue services in El Paso County. If somebo
 dy gets hurt on Pikes Peak, lost on our many trails, drives off the Pi
 kes Peak Highway, EPCSAR is there to help. Members buy their own equip
 ment and contribute hundreds of volunteer hours for the community. Dur
 ing snow storms, EPCSAR volunteers are out in the storm tending to str
